An unusual church design for Sussex, Glynde was built for the Bishop of Durham, Richard Trevor, who happened to live next door at Glynde Place. It dates from the 1760s, on the site of an earlier more traditional church. It sits high above the rest of the village with wide views across the Ouse valley to the downland scarp.
