Crocosmia

I’ve always called this firestorm of a flower Crocosmia, but my mother has confused me by suddenly changing to calling it Mombretia! We had some very well behaved plants in the garden I grew up with, in the tiny garden I have now it is a more enthusiastic spreader! In 2012 it was at its very best, some sort of weird coincidence meant that visually the display it put on emulated the wonderful Olympic torch creation.

I love the way the flowers open in turn as they get pollinated upwards. The colour is so rich as well.

However. Because they spread so verily any diggings up need managing carefully and not dumping heedlessly, rather a number are now growing in wild places and that’s not good news. It gives this gorgeous display a bad name for a start!

For now this card comes cellophane wrapped, but this will alter as stocks change. It is blank to allow you to say whatever you would like to say. The accompanying envelope is white
