We are quite intrigued by paths, that encouragement to explore that they promise us all. Lindfield Village is named for lime trees, it was named in a Saxon charter in 765 and the name translated as 'open land with lime trees'. The High Street is lined with heavily pollarded lime trees and the character of the village in summer is a lush green from their foliage, as typified in this view down from the porch of the church. We were commissioned to take photographs of the village and of course rather homed in on many of the lime trees, as that is what Tilia Publishing UK is named for!
