This plantation is officially called the Jubilee Plantation and was formed from over 3000 trees, planted in 1887 to mark Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, on the north slope of the South Downs escarpment. To the east lies the track called Streat Bostal and from the similarly named Jubilee footpath that runs behind the trees the views across the Low Weald towards Streat and beyond are full of drama. This footpath was formalised in 2002 to mark Queen Elizabeth’s own Golden Jubilee.
